CSR

For clear, concise, cost-effective advice on intellectual property, patents and industrial designs
Corporate Social Responsibility etc
CSR involves looking ahead.
Since inception, Invicta IP has been conscious of the benefit of efficient working practices.  As a small business we are unable to make an impact similar to the CSR programme of a large corporate, however we use appropriate technology wherever possible (as you would expect from a patent attorney... ) to minimize energy consumption, minimize waste and other pollutants. Our attorney carries out his work almost exclusively without generating paper. Working in our own home town keeps carbon emissions low, as there is no daily commute. We have served clients from Northern Scotland to Taiwan, Australia, USA and in between without the need for travel, although we appreciate the value of a face-to-face meeting whenever this is realistic. In short, we consider how we work and the resources we use, and we aim to ensure that our business has a positive impact on the national and international community. The improvement of processes and procedures is ongoing.

IP via Skype
As part of his CSR, Paul provides one-to-one sessions on IP via Skype, free of charge to individuals and start ups, organised through Stairs And Shares.  In these sessions, he answers your questions and gives guidance on priorities for your business idea. Feedback has been encouraging. Look out for the updated 1-to-1-support schedule here (scroll down to Virtual IP Support/One to one IP Support).

Code of Conduct
The interests of our clients are paramount.  Our professional code of conduct can be found here

Expectations
We provide our potential clients with information on our business; the usual order of events when applying for a patent or registering a design; guidance on costs; how we handle Client money; and how to make a complaint. Importantly from a Client's perspective, we explain our fixed-cost billing and we ensure that potential clients are able to make informed choices before they commit to purchase the services of our patent attorney.  As already mentioned in the section on costs, we avoid issuing surprise bills.
